THE BATH RITUAL

Wild Sage & Thyme Bath Salts

grounding soak for tension and tired muscles

Sale price$24.00

Some days leave the body holding everything at once: the shoulders, the jaw, the list that never quite finished. This is the soak for the end of those days, when the water turns mineral-grey and silty, the air goes green and herbaceous, and wildcrafted purple sage carries you back into your own skin. A grounding bath ritual that asks nothing of you but to get in. You don't have to earn the rest; you only have to run the water.

The Plants

Purple sage is not the sage of the spice cabinet, and not the white sage sold for smudging. Salvia leucophylla is a California native, silver-leaved and intensely aromatic, the plant that scents the whole coastline after rain. Jasmine wildcrafts it from the coastal hills near home, which is the only honest way to know a plant: by the place it comes from.

In the bath it brings an earthy, herbaceous depth that keeps the soak from ever feeling perfumed or precious. The salts beneath it do the quieter work. French grey sel gris and fine sea salt carry the trace minerals of the ocean, and Epsom and dendritic salt give the water that soft, enveloping quality that makes a bath feel like more than warm water.

Bathing is one of the oldest ways human beings have set the day down. Long before anyone called it self-care, women drew water, added what the land offered, and let the warmth take some of the weight off their shoulders. This blend was composed for that lineage and for the end of an ordinary hard day: something earthy to ground you, minerals to soften the water, and the simple act of getting in.

Purple Sage

Purple sage grows in the coastal sage scrub here in Southern California, silver-green and so aromatic you can smell it on the wind before you reach it. I gather it from the hills near home, which is where I've learned most of what I know about plants. This is not the culinary sage or the white sage people burn; Salvia leucophylla is its own plant, earthier and quieter, with a grounding quality I've always associated with the chaparral itself. In the bath it doesn't shout. It brings the smell of the dry hills into the warm water and asks you to come back down to earth.

Rooted in Lineage. Made with Reverence.

Every formula in this apothecary is made in small batches in Los Angeles, using herbs that are organically grown or seasonally wildcrafted whenever possible. We work with plants at the peak of their potency — harvested in the right season, prepared slowly, and handled with the same reverence we hope you bring to using them.

This is medicine in the oldest sense of the word: plant wisdom, carefully tended, passed forward with care.

Jasmine's Note

My grandmother didn't call it herbalism. She just knew things — which plants to reach for, which roots to dry, what the earth offered when the body asked. She learned it from her father, who kept a garden in Biloxi and understood plants the way some people understand people. That knowledge passed to her, and quietly, to me.

I didn't fully understand what I'd inherited until my own body started asking questions that medicine couldn't answer. Hormonal chaos, long seasons of depression, the particular exhaustion of feeling disconnected from yourself. I remembered the whisperings. I turned back toward the plants. Everything in this apothecary came from that turning — things I made for myself first, and then for the women in my life who needed the same. I offer them to you the way my grandmother offered what she knew: as a hand extended, as something real.
